Transfer story
The Swans will be in 7th heaven at the moment as Bayern Munich’s young star is set to join them on a season long loan deal. The midfielder shares a close, civil relationship with Paul Clement as they both worked together at Bavaria. He joined them last summer for a hefty fee and talks between Bayern and Swansea suggest that the move is very much on the cards.
Clement has got some important connections at the German giants and is looking to make use of that at the Liberty. The influential manager led Swans to a great escape, just in time and they have added important players to ensure they don’t wane again this season.
They include Tammy Abraham (on loan), Roque Mesa, Erwin Mulder and Sam Clucas. Clement might be on his way to perform a master class move as he beat Manchester United and Liverpool, two absolute giants to sign the Portuguese international.
What he’ll offer to the club
Gylfi exits? No problem. This man is just 20 years old and is extremely young and effective to have experienced the taste of Bayern. He has played alongside the best in the world and is energetic, lively, quick and quite destructive. He is too versatile for a 20-year-old, being comfortable in defensive, attacking, central and wide roles.
He is strong, physical and well built. He can illustrate composure while having the ball and controlling possession. He is creative and an excellent passer. He likes to play long balls, challenge players, dribble and run on the wings freely when serving an offensive role.
Worth the loan?
Absolutely! We have seen Morata, Lukaku, Kyle Walker, Éderson, Salah, Chicharito and a few others who have hit the grounds running strong, but Renato Sanches could, hands down, be the signing of the season.
He can rule and direct the play of a Swansea team that needs suppliers, support and work rate and there is no one fresher, younger and better than the Portuguese international. If there is a man who can save the season and do much more than just that for Swansea City, it’s Renato Sanches.
The Portuguese has an incredible drive from the midfield and even though he might not have the same output as Gylfi Sigurdsson, he can still strike a solid partnership with Mesa who is more composed on the ball and has incredible distribution. The two can complement each other really well.
