Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a few signings to increase the quality of their squad. With a settled squad, the target will be quality over quantity as they’d want to leave a mark in the upcoming season’s Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side failed in make the round of 16 this past season but made up for it by finishing second in the Premier League. Although they played some fantastic football in the league, the lack of quality and perhaps experience was evident in the Champions League.
One of the players the North Londoners were being linked with was AC Milan’s Suso. The Spaniard had a stunning season with the Rossoneri after netting seven goals and mustering nine assists in the league.
A failure in the Premier League with Liverpool, many believed that he would take another crack at the Premier League but he has quickly quashed any such talk by stating, “I have three offers from Champions League clubs, but I want to stay here, as I am very happy with the fans and the coach.
“Nobody said anything to me, I’ve been waiting since December and we’ll see what happens.”
He could have been a decent addition on the right as he performed the duties of an inverted winger and a creative playmaker pretty well for Milan. But it seems Spurs will have to look elsewhere.
