Liverpool Table A Bid For This La Liga Sensation: Why Klopp Should See This Deal Through

Jurgen Klopp is desperately looking to make his squad at Anfield stronger than what it was in the previous season as they are expected to fight on all four fronts next. They have already added an exciting winger to their lineup in the form of Mohamed Salah, but it does not look like Klopp is happy with his options and is looking to make more additions to his attacking unit at Anfield.

Argentine starlet on the radar

The Reds are now strongly linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star Angel Correa as reports claim that Liverpool have tabled a £25m bid for the 22-year old.

It also claims that Atletico Madrid might be ready to let him leave at that price but the player is demanding a wage of £3.97m per year to accept a move to the Merseyside. So is Correa an addition Liverpool need this summer?

History, Attributes and Numbers

Born and brought up in Rosario Argentina, Correa has been at the Vicente Calderon from 2014 and has made 58 La Liga appearances already. He has eight goals and 11 assists to his name in all competitions in Spain last season and is slowly establishing himself in the first team under Diego Simeone at the Spanish Capital.

Capable of playing on the left-wing or as a secondary striker, Correa is a right-winger whose biggest strength is his shot power and finishing abilities. He has the knack of scoring important goals and his ability to dribble past opponents with ease makes him a genuinely exciting prospect for Liverpool.

He is mentally strong, but not so much physically and still has to work on his ball holding and aerial abilities but his energy and willingness to defend make him a perfect fit for Klopp’s style of play.

At just 22, he is going to get better and Simeone will know that he can turn into a superstar in years to come but they need to fund the purchase of Diego Costa and might be tempted to cash in on Correa this summer.

Situation at Liverpool

But it is hard to see the Argentine U20 international play a regular role in the first team at Anfield. Klopp has used Sadio Mane on the wings to good effect last season and he, along with Salah, should be the first choice wingers. But neither have a genuine first team backup in the squad and Correa seems to be the option Klopp wants.

The likes of Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum can all deputise on the wings but it is always good to have a genuine winger in the squad to cover for injuries and contingencies.

It is hard to find such a talent ready to move this summer and at just £25m, Correa looks a steal. With problems at the back still not solved, the Atletico Madrid man may not be a priority but if Liverpool are able to seal this transfer, Liverpool will have a formidable attack for the next season, ending their problems in attack once and for all.
