Transfer Story
This summer has been full of riveting speculations and rumours linking various players with a possible move from their present club to better shores, but nothing comes close to the outlandish speculation that links FC Bayern Munich goal machine Robert Lewandowski to the Premier League Champions Chelsea.
Recent reports suggest that the prolific striker has been left disappointed with his fellow teammates and boss Ancelotti for their lack of help and support in the Polish striker’s run up to win the top scorer title of Bundesliga which was snatched away from his grasp at the last minute by BVB talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
If rumours are to be believed, Chelsea are at the forefront of signing the star as their exquisite plan of signing Romelu Lukaku has come to a standstill with contract negotiations hitting an impasse.
Bayern has released an official statement in which they have vehemently denied such allegations saying
“Bayern are not wasting any time thinking about a transfer from Lewandowski. There are no negotiations, nor will there be any. If other clubs negotiate with players who have long-term contracts, they risk being punished by FIFA”
The Polish striker is contract bound till 2021 and it would take a massive coup to prise away the 28-year-old from Allianz arena and even more so after seeing the reaction from the club officials.
Nonetheless, we are here to see what he could bring to the London Blues if a possible transfer does manage to happen.
Player Stats
The Polish striker had been in sensational form last season and played a crucial role upfront with the Bavarians which saw them win the Bundesliga title and also a more than successful campaign in the Champions League.
The player alone had scored 43 goals and 6 assists in all of 47 matches he played for Bayern Munich this past season. An unstoppable goal scoring machine certainly, his skills and talent upfront have decimated many impregnable defences.
The player also has maintained a healthy pass success rate of 73.4% in all competitions and has also put in 41 key passes for the Bundesliga club in all competitions.
The player’s eagle-eyed vision along with defence scything through passes make him a stellar addition to any club.
The player’s 4.1 average of shots per game is nothing short of surreal.
Certainly an enviable addition to any club the player has all the qualities to put in a huge difference between two teams on a pitch. (Stats via WhoScored)
What’ll he offer the Club?
The player has all the qualities to make Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League defence campaign and European ventures into a formidable one.
If Conte manages to lure the Polish striker, Chelsea would get an upgraded and better version of Diego Costa and would not much mind if they the Spanish striker opt for the Far East like his other ex-Chelsea compatriots in the transfer window.
The player’s ability to score goals week in week out with consistency and vigour would form a lethal attacking trio combined with Hazard and Pedro, something that could obliterate any formidable defence not only in Premier League but also in Europe.
Certainly a difficult but nonetheless possible task, Conte should try to put in all his effort to make this happen which could see them become an indomitable force in Europe!
