Nottingham Forest managed to avert a catastrophic outcome as they managed to register a 3-0 win over Ipswich Town and thus managed to escape the sword of relegation. The Reds, thanks to their goal difference, maintained their Championship status in what was a horrendous campaign for them in the English second division.
Under the tutelage of Mark Warburton, Forest didn’t look very convincing and it goes without saying that the former Rangers boss would have to pencil some shrewd deals over the course of the summer transfer window to ensure that their fans do not possibly face such unacceptable scenarios. Apparently, reports have emerged that Warburton is looking forward to lure Hibernian’s striker Jason Cummings to the City Ground.
Cummings emerged through the youth ranks of Hutchison Vale, Heart of Midlothian, before being acquired by the Hibs in the summer of 2016. Despite being a 21-year-old, Cummings has had quite an eventful career as he made rapid progress with the Easter Road outfit. He has bagged 69 goals in 148 games for Hibernian and has emerged as one of the hottest properties which the Scottish football has on its tray to offer.
In 32 Scottish Championship games, Cummings has banged 19 goals in 32 appearances for the Cabbages and has been their top scorer for the last three seasons. Although he is relatively young, he has shown immense maturity so far in his career and played an instrumental role last season in earning his employers a promotion to the Scottish Premiership under the stewardship of Neil Lennon.
The Scot is a clinical striker up front who always intends to make something happen up front, be it with his movements on and off the ball or his inclination to keep testing the opposition’s goalkeeper. Cummings is strong, well built and has learned the technical aspects of the game with relative ease and no wonder why his stocks have risen incredibly, particularly after churning a stellar season with the Hibees the last term.
If the Tricky Trees manage to lure them into their ranks, they would be laying their hands on a prolific young striker who could cater to a major chunk of their goal scoring needs. He is a blossoming prospect and will learn more in due course of time. Besides, he has found a place for himself in the good books of football fraternity and thus, could help in uplifting the morale of Warburton’s side.
