Liverpool and Arsenal will have competition in trying to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Reports indicate that AC Milan, under the ownership of a Chinese consortium, will leave no stone unturned in trying to lure the Gabonese goal-machine.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are on the lookout for a striker. While Liverpool need someone who can guarantee them at least 15 to 20 goals a season, Arsenal need to replace the inconsistent Olivier Giroud with someone whose form won’t fluctuate in the season.
Aubameyang won the golden boot with Dortmund has been heavily linked with an exit, even more so after Thomas Tuchel was sacked and replaced by Peter Bosz.
It is apparently Milan’s dream to sign Aubameyang according to Gazzetta dello Sport and considering they have money to spend, they could outbid the two Premier League sides. The Italian side will have to match Tianjin Quanjian’s bid of 70 million pounds though.
It will seem surprising if Aubameyang moves to Milan. Liverpool and his present side Dortmund have Champions League football, and some of the other sides linked, Real Madrid for instance, would pretty much guarantee him silverware. So, it’s perhaps best to take the rumours with a pinch of salt.
