Tottenham Hotspur Close To Securing A Shrewd Deal For This La Liga Man: Well Played Pochettino

Pau Lopez moved to Tottenham Hotspur last summer on a loan move with an option to make the move permanent for a fee of around €7m. But according to the reports, Tottenham have tabled an offer of €2m and a further €2m  in add-ons which could be enough to make the goalkeeper’s move from Espanyol to the London outfit permanent.

The offer also includes a further sell-on clause which could see Espanyol get a cut of the fee if Tottenham sells the Spaniard to any other club in the future which perhaps could turn out to be a really good incentive for the future.

Tottenham were already in a strong position after Lopez was deemed not to be inclined to a further contract despite only a year remaining on his current contract. This puts Tottenham in a really strong negotiating position and will help make his move permanent for such little a sum.

The 22-year-old completed his temporary move to Tottenham on the deadline day of the last window and is eager to continue his progress under Pochettino who coincidentally started his managerial career at Espanyol.

Before his move to Tottenham, Lopez played started 36 games for Espanyol in the season 2015-16 in the Spanish La Liga which indicated that he is not short of good experience and can fit in the first team squad quite easily.

Hugo Lloris is already  30 years old and despite the life of a goalkeeper being fairly long, Pau Lopez could even fill in the role of the Frenchman’s understudy with Michel Vorm being 33 years old.

Although Michel Vorm is a fairly decent keeper, getting someone young could easily secure Tottenham’s future between the sticks for the long term. Pochettino also said that the keeper is really competitive and ready for the first team action physically and mentally.

Lopez will be in action for Spain under-21 for the European Championship which will take place in Poland due to which he hasn’t featured for the Tottenham’s under-21 side.

Ahaa, its good dialogue concerning this piece of writing here at this weblog, I have read all that, so at this time me also commenting
