Chelsea are in touching distance of Arsenal’s record of consecutive wins in the Premier League but achieving that milestone would be a hard ask as their next game is a pretty tough one against Spurs at White Hart Lane. Antonio Conte’s side have been flawless since switching to a 3-4-3 system after an embarrassing loss against Arsenal and have won 13 games on the bounce. No team have come even close enough to find the winning formula against the Blues as the West London side boast a 5-point advantage in the title race.
We can expect a wild encounter between two London giants on Wednesday when Spurs take on Chelsea at White Hart Lane. The Lilywhites have turned around a corner in recent weeks after a sloppy start to the season and are in the best possible form and have what it takes to halt the Blues’ exceptional run.
Spurs are on the back of four straight wins and absolutely thrashed Watford in the last game and will be all fired up to make it five in a row and stun Chelsea.
Spurs
Erik Lamela is expected to be Tottenham’s only absentee, with the Argentine midfielder still struggling to shake off a hip problem. Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker will be welcomed back from suspension with Kevin Wimmer and Kieran Trippier expected to make way.
Chelsea
Injuries have been pretty kind to Chelsea this season and they have almost a clean bill of health for this match. John Terry is fit but is unlikely to be able to muscle his way back into the division’s best defence for such an important game. Conte will be in selection dilemma in two positions, one in midfield between Fabregas and Matic and another in attack between Willian and Pedro.
Spurs (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen; Wanyama; Walker, Alli, Eriksen, Rose; Son, Kane.
Chelsea (3-4-3): Courtois; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kanté, Matic, Alonso; Pedro, Costa, Hazard.
Spurs- Harry Kane
Kane has finally discovered his best form of late and will be the biggest threat to the Chelsea defence on Wednesday. On his day, he is unstoppable and Kane is a player who always performs on the biggest of occasions.
Chelsea- Diego Costa
At the moment, Costa is probably is the best striker in the world. The Spanish international has been exceptional this season and will be keen to keep up his impressive form against Spurs.
