Tottenham Hotspur Vs Chelsea Combined XI: The Crème De La Crème From Both The Sides

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea face off in the final game of the Matchday for the biggest clash of the year till now. Spurs are on the back of a 4-1 win against Watford and will be a confident bunch heading into the match. Chelsea are marching on relentlessly and it is imperative for them to lose points for the sake of the rest of the Premier League. But full credit to Chelsea and Conte for the manner in which they have adapted to the new tactics and the scary part of their rise is the fact that seem to be improving every match. Conte won’t let the success get to their heads and the players will be aware of keeping the intensity high.

With the result of the game expected to have significant repercussions at the top of the table let us take a look at the possible combined XI of the two teams.

PREDICTED COMBINED TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS CHELSEA XI (3-4-3)

DEFENCE

Thibaut Courtois gets the nod in goal but it was touch and go between the two keepers. Both have been in excellent form and although the Belgian has been called into action fewer number of times, 12 clean sheets for Chelsea makes it impossible to ignore him. The back three is unsurprisingly the toughest to select. Cesar Azpilicueta, with his unwavering consistency, gets the nod on the right side of the back three with David Luiz in the centre. The Brazilian has been brilliant since his return and looks a different player altogether. Jan Vertonghen is our preferred choice on the left-side with Alderweireld not having his most consistent season.

MIDFIELD

Victor Moses, Walker, Rose and Alonso have been brilliant in the wing-back/ midfield roles and all on an equal standing as far as this season’s displays are concerned. But Walker’s final ball and his accuracy elevate him in our thoughts ahead of Moses, who despite having a resurrection of sorts at Chelsea, hasn’t been the most clinical in the final third. Danny Rose, with his superior attacking threat, edges Alonso on the left-side.

In the central midfield, N’Golo Kante gets the nod alongside Victor Wanyama. The former Leicester man has continued his high-octane displays at Stamford Bridge and is already an asset to the Blues. Wanyama has emerged as one of the signings of the season and the duo is likely to be able to thwart any midfield in the league.

ATTACK

Eden Hazard has burst into form this season and lines up on the left-flank in our team. Eriksen has been extremely consistent in the last few weeks and gets a nod ahead of Pedro who has also been a player reborn under Conte. Diego Costa gets the nod ahead of Harry Kane and the Spaniard looks like the runaway Golden Boot contender.
