Reece James Ruled Out – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Chelsea Lineup vs Leicester City

Chelsea will return to Premier League action this Saturday when they take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Enzo Maresca’s side are currently third in the league table. However, just one point separates seven teams at the moment, so a win is crucial to build some momentum after the international break.

The Blues have won just one out of their last five Premier League games, and Maresca will want his side to be more consistent with a busy run of games coming up.

Chelsea’s opponents Leicester City have so far managed to deal with Maresca’s departure. They are currently out of the relegation zone, but are winless in their last three games. In fact, Steve Cooper’s side have won just two games so far this season.

Chelsea Team News

Maresca revealed in his pre-match press conference that apart from Reece James, there are no injuries in the Chelsea squad.

It remains to be seen if Maresca will make any big changes to his preferred starting XI.

Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Leicester

Goalkeeper

Robert Sanchez is expected to keep his place in goal. The Spaniard will perhaps need to be a bit more consistent in the coming weeks as he has made some glaring errors of late.

Defence

Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana are once again expected to line up at the heart of the Chelsea defence. The duo have done well together and are very much the preferred choice at centre-back.

With James out, Malo Gusto should take his place at right-back in the Chelsea lineup, Marc Cucurella is expected to line up at left-back.

Midfield

There are too many midfield pairs that are better than Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo at the moment. At their best, the duo can do everything; from breaking play to progressing the ball, from pressing to playing final passes.

The duo will be crucial to Chelsea’s hopes of finishing in the top 4 and potentially winning some silverware this season.

Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Leicester City

Cole Palmer could be given a number 10 role once again. The attacker’s form has dipped a little as he has managed just one goal and one assist in his last five games in the league. But his performance have still been top notch.

Attack

Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto are expected to feature as the two wide attackers. Neto has done well to cement his place in the Chelsea lineup ahead of the likes of Jadon Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Nicolas Jackson should lead the line once again. The Senegalese will hope to add to his six league goals this season against Leicester City.
