After being the only club not to sign a player in the summer of 2018, Tottenham Hotspur will hope to add more depth to their squad upcoming January transfer window.
The midfield department, in particular, needs some reinforcements with Eric Dier unlikely to feature for some time while Mousa Dembele has had too many niggling injuries.
We take a look at three midfielders Tottenham Hotspur should sign in January.
#3 Shinji Kagawa
Tottenham Hotspur have been far too reliant on the services of Christian Eriksen in the past few years and Pochettino needs to sign a creative midfielder, who can be a good alternative to the Danish international.
Shinji Kagawa, in that regard, could be an interesting option. The Borussia Dortmund playmaker has struggled with lack of game time under Lucien Favre this season and has featured in only 42 matches in the past couple of years.
However, he never actually disappointed whenever given the chance and considering his immense technical prowess coupled with his brilliant awareness, Kagawa could be an ideal fit for Tottenham.
It is believed that Kagawa has been listed as one of many players who will be allowed to leave the club in January, giving them an opportunity to sign the Japanese international on a low price.
