3 Players Liverpool are Expected to Sell in the Coming Weeks

Liverpool have had one of the most memorable transfer windows to date, but things could get even busier in the coming weeks.

The Reds broke the club and British transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and reports indicate they could yet make a bid for Alexander Isak provided Newcastle United are open to selling him.

Isak is likely to cost in the region of the fee Liverpool paid for Wirtz, if not more, so it’s vital the Reds manage to negotiate a few outgoings before they can make a bid for Isak.

The Reds have already spent well over a combined €250million on the likes of Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi. Their sound finances leaves them with room to sign more players.

The Reds do have a squad that can compete for all major honours next season, but we could see a few departures.

Let’s take a look at 3 players who are expected to depart Anfield this summer:

#3 Luis Diaz

The Colombian international made it clear that his intentions are to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere and it seems like he will be playing in Bayern Munich colours next season.

The Bavarians have agreed a four-year deal with Diaz and will pay a fee of €75million to Liverpool for the attacker’s services.

Diaz’s loss will be big for Liverpool; he is at the peak of his prowess and scored 13 goals in the Premier League last season.

Although the Reds have signed Hugo Ekitike and are expected to seek a replacement for Diaz, his versatility and output, coupled with his cohesiveness in Arne Slot’s system, will be sorely missed.

#2 Harvey Elliot

Elliot was on fire in the under-21 European Championship campaign in June and led England to the title with his four goals.

The versatile midfielder has already revealed this summer that he doesn’t want to waste years of his career not playing at his age.

Elliot made just two starts and 16 substitute appearances in the league last season. While he might make more appearances this season if he stays injury-free, the 22-year-old will have to compete with the likes of Florian Wirtz, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominic Szoboszlai for a place in the starting lineup.

The Reds signed Elliot on a tribunal fee of £4.3million, so Liverpool are looking at making a good profit on his sale should they decide to let him go.

#1 Darwin Nunez

Nunez is another Liverpool player who has been linked with an exit. There are no reports as to what the exact fee Liverpool are looking to sell the Uruguayan for as they rejected an approach by Napoli.

However, the Reds are open to selling him for the right fee. Rumours about a possible move for Alexander Isak couple with the presence of Ekitike means Liverpool are ready to move on from Nunez after three seasons.

The former Benfica man made just eight starts in the league last season, but did offer Slot with something more direct when he featured as the central striker.
