Manchester City have reportedly expressed their interest in signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
According to Football Insider, the French midfielder is open to leaving Santiago Bernabeu this summer and joining Pep Guardiola’s side.
Since his transfer from Rennes in 2021, Camavinga has been an integral part of Los Blancos, clocking up more than 100 appearances.
In his short stay in the Spanish capital, the 22-year-old has adorned his trophy cabinet by adding two La Liga titles, two Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, one Copa del Rey and one FIFA Club World Cup.
However, he has been plagued by frequent injuries this season, which has significantly limited his game time.
Camavinga has featured in 27 games in all competitions, with half of them coming from the bench. Nevertheless, he has managed to make a big impact whenever called upon.
Carlo Ancelotti is also likely to count on the former Rennes star towards the business end of the season, with Los Blancos chasing a treble.
Camavinga’s contract expires in June 2029, and it needs to be seen how reliable the reports of his potential exit plans are.
Manchester City splashed the cash on Nico Gonzalez from Porto in January, but they are planning to invest more in midfield reinforcements in the summer.

Manchester City have plenty of questions over their midfield options, with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva not living up to their standards this season.
The absence of Rodri has had a profound impact on performances, but a club of City’s stature should be doing better with the impressive squad depth they possess.

Eduardo Camavinga, without a doubt, will bring stability to City’s midfield due to all-round capabilities.
The Frenchman has been mostly deployed as a box-to-box player who brings steeliness to the midfield. He has also shown he can influence the game on his own.
Camavinga’s robustness will be crucial for Man City while defending transitions, and his flexibility to play as a left-back is an added incentive.
However, there appears to be no indication that the Frenchman wants to leave Real this summer. It would take huge figures to prise him away from the Spanish capital, and City wouldn’t be deterred by it because of their deeper pockets.
