Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.
The Red Devils desperately need to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window, with neither Rasmus Hojlund nor Joshua Zirkzee showing that they can be prolific goalscorers. There has been speculation that they are open to cashing in on Hojlund at the end of the season, with Napoli among his admirers.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Victor Osimhen is keen on joining Manchester United this summer, although the Premier League club will need to beat stiff competition from several clubs to secure his signature.
Paris Saint-Germain hold a strong interest in the Nigerian international, who will not remain at Galatasaray beyond the end of the season. The centre-forward, regarded as one of the best in the world, has no future at Napoli as well after he fell out with the club bosses last summer. Thus, he is open to testing himself in the Premier League and would like to join Manchester United.
Victor Osimhen to Manchester United – Can he solve their goal-scoring woes?
Osimhen joined Galatasaray last summer on loan for the season from Napoli until June 2025. It is a dry loan with Galatasaray simply covering his salary from September until June. After a tough 2024 on and off the pitch, the African striker, who had been a key player in Napoli’s Scudetto-winning campaign, has regained his form at Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic season in Turkey, already scoring 20 goals and supplying five assists in 27 games in all competitions. Osimhen, operating at the peak of his powers, is the kind of ruthless striker Manchester United have been lacking for the last few seasons.
Hojlund is enduring a long goal drought, while Zirkzee continues to blow hot and cold after arriving from Bologna last summer. Marcus Rashford does not appear in Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans and was allowed to leave the club for Aston Villa on loan. Currently, Amorim does not have a player with presence up top who can guarantee 20 to 25 goals, which would make Osimhen a fantastic fit at United.
Proven at the highest level, the Nigerian international has the qualities to thrive in the fast-paced and physical nature of Premier League football. He would be a massive upgrade on Hojlund and Zirkzee and could thrive in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system. The ex-Lille man should be the main man in attack if a move to Old Trafford materialises.
However, Manchester United will need to pay Osimhen’s €75million release clause to sign him from Napoli. So, it will be interesting to see if INEOS take concrete steps to secure the striker’s signature.
