KDB Out, Marmoush In: 4-3-3 Predicted Man City Lineup vs Arsenal

Manchester City will try to put a spanner to Arsenal’s title dreams when they travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Sky Blues survived a Club Brugge-delivered scare in midweek, ultimately beating the Belgian side 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to enter the Champions League playoff rounds where they will be facing Real Madrid. Now, a relieved Pep Guardiola can switch his focus towards the Premier League, where his side have won four of their last five Premier League games.

The defending champions came from a goal down to beat Chelsea 3-1 at home last weekend but face a daunting task against Arsenal, who are second in the table and head into this game off the back of a 2-1 Champions League win over Girona.

Rodri, Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku and Nathan Ake remain out for Manchester City while Oscar Boss is also unlikely to make his much awaited return.

Predicted Man City lineup vs Arsenal (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper

Ederson should start in goal for Man City, hoping to shut up shop as quickly as possible. He will expect more protection from his defenders on Sunday.

Defence

Lining up in a 4-3-3 formation, John Stones and Manuel Akanji should start in central defence in the Man City lineup once again after pairing up in midweek against Club Brugge. New signing Abdukodir Khusanov is set for a role on the bench after his difficult debut outing in the 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Matheus Nunes could continue in a makeshift right-back role but he has to be at his best to stop a tricky Leandro Trossard from making inroads. Rico Lewis is now breathing down his neck for a starting spot in the Man City lineup.

Josko Gvardiol, meanwhile, has been a mainstay at left-back.

Midfield

Changes in midfield are certain to take place from the Club Brugge game. Bernardo Silva started on the right flank in midweek but should drop deep to form a midfield trio with Ilkay Gundogan and Mateo Kovacic in the Man City lineup.

Gundogan, Silva and Kovacic have volumes of experience at the highest level and will try to control the game as per the situation at the Emirates Stadium.

This means Kevin de Bruyne should drop to the bench after starting in the Champions League win over Club Brugge and will be used as needed further down the line in the game.

Attack

Omar Marmoush had a lively Man City debut against Chelsea last weekend. The Egyptian will be hoping to put in an impressive display off the left against Mikel Arteta’s side, while Phil Foden will try to affect the game with his movement, creativity and off-the-ball movement from the right.

Erling Haaland will definitely lead the Man City attack. The big Norwegian will try to cause all kinds of problems for the Arsenal backline. Savinho, who changed the course of the game against Brugge, has to settle for a spot on the bench along with Rico Lewis and Jack Grealish.
