Manchester United are pursuing a move for Burnley midfielder Sander Berge with the injury bug hitting their squad hard this summer. The Red Devils are preparing a £100,000 per week offer to lure the exciting talent to Old Trafford. The 26-year-old Norwegian will be made available by Burnley for a sum told to be in the vicinity of a handsome £30m.
But this is where the move could hit a snag with United understood to be valuing the player around £20m. Despite getting demoted to the Championship, the Clarets are unlikely to let their asset leave on the cheap and are expected to be ready to play hardball. Berge only signed for Burnley last summer in a £12m deal from Sheffield United and is likely to be looking for a way back to the Premier League.
The links to Sander Berge have emerged after Manchester United’s apparent refusal to meet PSG’s valuation of £51m for their star midfielder Manual Ugarte.
