Rashford Up Front: 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted XI vs Fulham

Manchester United welcome Fulham to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, hoping to extend their four-game winning run in the Premier League.

An early Rasmus Hojlund brace helped the Red Devils register a 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in the Premier League on Sunday, making it seven games unbeaten in all competitions in 2024. They finished the weekend sixth in the table, with three points separating them from fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Erik ten Hag’s men have started to turn a corner and will be favourites on paper against Fulham, who suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Aston Villa last time out.

Manchester United Team News

Manchester United will be without Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw for the meeting with Fulham at Old Trafford. Hojlund was added to the list of injured players on Friday, with the Danish striker set to miss two to three weeks due to a small injury. Shaw was forced off in the first half of the 2-1 win over Luton Town with a muscle injury, ruling him out for several months as a result.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia remain on the sidelines, while Lisandro Martinez is not expected to return until April.

Predicted Man United lineup vs Fulham (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Andre Onana has shown an improvement in form since the turn of the year, but having kept just one clean sheet in the last five league games, he will be desperate to shut up shop as quickly as possible against Fulham.

Defence

Victor Lindelof replaced Luke Shaw at half-time for the second weekend running and it looks likely the Swede will start at left-back this time around. Diogo Dalot is an easy pick at right-back, with Raphael Varane partnering Harry Maguire in central defence in the Man United lineup.

Maguire and Varane must be at their best to keep the in-form Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz at bay on Saturday.

Midfield

Casemiro was hooked at half-time to avoid a second yellow card in the 2-1 win at Luton but he is certain to start alongside youngster Kobbie Mainoo in the double pivot in the Man United lineup. The duo has been fundamental in helping the Red Devils stay unbeaten in 2024, and Erik ten Hag is unlikely to disrupt the midfield pairing’s growing understanding.

football formations

Bruno Fernandes’ form has dipped in recent months, yet he is the skipper of the team and remains an undisputed starter in the No.10 role.

Christian Eriksen, Sofyan Amrabat and Scott McTominay will again retain their spots on the bench.

Attack

Rasmus Hojlund’s injury is a big blow to the hosts owing to his hot form in front of goal.

Ten Hag is likely to deploy Marcus Rashford as a No.9 against Fulham in the Man United lineup. Alejandro Garnacho could move to the left flank, opening Antony’s door for a recall to the starting XI on the right.

There is a buzz that young Omari Forson could be handed a start but we are expecting Antony to prove his naysayers wrong today.

Antony and Garnacho will be looking to cause problems for the Fulham full-backs and provide service to Rashford in the box. If Man United require fresh legs, Ten Hag could introduce the likes of McTominay, Sofyan Amrabat and Forson off the bench.
