Bayern Munich Star Wants Out: 3 Likely Destinations Including Barcelona

Joshua Kimmich is likely to exit Bayern Munich at the end of the season. Let us take a look at 3 potential destinations for the player.

#Barcelona

Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for Joshua Kimmich for some time now, and of course, the Spanish giants should be keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the midfielder with a view to the summer.

Frenkie de Jong and Oriol Romeu are the No.6s available to Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez, but with the former linked with a summer exit, the club could very well do with a player of Kimmich’s quality and stature. Technically brilliant and tactically astute, the German would be a strong addition to the Catalan club’s setup.

If Kimmich becomes available this summer, he certainly would be an attractive option for Barcelona.

#Manchester City

It is no secret that Manchester City are long-term admirers of Joshua Kimmich and were interested in signing him last summer after missing out on Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola knows the player in and out from his time as a manager at Bayern. Kimmich is a quintessential Guardiola player, an extreme technical talent who can dictate the tempo of play and lead the team from the middle of the park.

The Man City boss wanted to bring cover for Rodri at the start of the season, and with Kimmich unhappy at Bayern, he could revive his interest in the Germany international.

#Liverpool

Liverpool are set to usher into a new era this summer after Jurgen Klopp announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. Whoever succeeds Klopp could look to fortify the Reds’ midfield unit by signing a quality defensive midfielder, and Joshua Kimmich fits the bill perfectly.

In terms of quality, pedigree and experience, Kimmich would be an instant upgrade on Wataru Endo. The German could make Liverpool tick with his technical attributes and reading of the game, whilst being a top mentor for young talents such as Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot and Ryan Gravenberch.

Kimmich has a contract with Bayern until 2025, meaning the club have a big decision to make on him next summer before he enters the last 12 months of his deal. And given he has been at loggerheads with Tuchel and his staff of late, Liverpool could take advantage of the situation and make a move for him.
