Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Tottenham Hotspur will be bidding to make it four consecutive Premier League wins on Wednesday evening when they travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Lilywhites scraped a nervy 2-1 win over Everton last weekend to leapfrog champions Manchester City into fourth place in the Premier League table. Momentum is now back with Ange Postecoglou’s men and they will now endeavour to further erase their November plight by winning in midweek.

However, despite Brighton’s inconsistent form of late in the league, they will be no pushovers and will pose a serious threat to Spurs on the south coast.

Tottenham Team News

Tottenham have been dealt with a huge injury blow with Cristian Romero ruled out for four to five weeks with a hamstring problem he suffered against Everton. Richarlison was unable to complete the full 90 against Everton due to a sore back but is understood to be in with a good chance to shake it off in time for the trip to the Amex.

Yves Bissouma will serve the second of a four-match suspension, but Ange Postecoglou will welcome Destiny Udogie back from a one-game ban when Spurs take on Brighton.

Predicted Tottenham lineup vs Brighton (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Guglielmo Vicario produced a series of key saves in the second half to help Spurs beat Everton 2-1 at home last weekend. The Italian would go into this game in high spirits, hoping to keep a clean sheet at the Amex Stadium.

Defence

Cristian Romero has been added to the injury list after suffering a hamstring problem last weekend, so Eric Dier is certain to deputise for him and join Ben Davies in central defence. They must stay focused and disciplined throughout the game to keep the potent Brighton attackers quiet.

football formations

Pedro Porro has become a mainstay in Spurs’ defence under Ange Postecoglou and his position at right-back is secured. Emerson Royal did a solid job at left-back in the absence of Destiny Udogie last time out, but the Brazilian will likely make way for his returning teammate against the Seagulls.

Midfield

As Yves Bissouma continues to serve his suspension, Oliver Skipp will partner Pape Sarr in the double pivot in Spurs’ midfield. They will have to be calm and composed on the ball and avoid getting overrun by the Brighton midfielders.

Dejan Kulusevski will continue acting as Tottenham’s creative focal point in the no.10 role, and the Swede’s link-up play, movement and vision could cause problems for the Brighton backline.

Attack

Assuming Richarlison’s back problem doesn’t turn into anything more severe, the Brazilian will aim to stretch his scoring run to four games at the focal point of the attack, supported by Brennan Johnson and Son Heung-min from wide areas. The trio will look to combine well in the final third and hurt Brighton, who have been patchy defensively in recent games.
