Maddison a Doubt – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur will hope to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League on Saturday when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth.

New manager Ange Postecoglou has started ringing in changes at Spurs, who have drawn and won in their opening two fixtures. They played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Brentford before grabbing their first win of the season by beating Manchester United 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.

The second-half display and win over Manchester United should give them a lot of confidence heading into the game at Bournemouth, who were beaten 3-1 by the ten men of Liverpool at Anfield last time out.

Tottenham Team News

James Maddison is a doubt for Tottenham after leaving the win over United on crutches and with a protective boot on his right foot, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil remain unavailable.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Bournemouth (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Guglielmo Vicario was in fine form against Manchester United, making a couple of quality saves and keeping a clean sheet in the process. He is a certainty to start in Spurs’ goal against Bournemouth.

Defence

Ange Postecoglou will have to decide whether to make any more changes to a winning team. At the back, he might be tempted to bring in Emerson Royal for an away game over Pedro Porro but the Spaniard put in an impressive performance against United at home. That should see Porro get the nod over Emerson at right-back, while Destiny Udogie looks to catch the eye again with his attacking ability from the left-back spot.

Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Bournemouth

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are in the embryonic stages of their defensive partnership. Having helped Spurs keep a clean sheet in the win over United, they will be hungry to keep things tight at Bournemouth and earn another shutout.

Midfield

There are fears James Maddison may not be able to feature against Bournemouth after leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a protective boot last weekend. If the English playmaker isn’t available, Giovani Lo Celso could get an opportunity to show what he can do as a No.10.

Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr were excellent in the middle of the park against Manchester United, with the latter opening the scoring. Postecoglou is unlikely to break the double pivot of Bissouma and Sarr, as the African duo look to provide a base for Lo Celso to weave his magic in the final third.

Attack

Postecoglou has kept the same front three in his opening games and is likely to do so again. That means Richarlison is given another run-up front to show that he can lead the line for Tottenham and score goals, with Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski supporting the Brazilian from wide areas.

Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will hope to make an impact off the bench if called upon by the Spurs boss.
