Predicted Everton lineup vs West Ham

Everton will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to West Ham on Saturday.

The Toffees are royally struggling to get results in their favour which has left them reeling in 19th position. Their last win in the Premier League came back in October in the 3-0 success over Crystal Palace. Since then, Frank Lampard’s side have drawn twice and lost five in their last seven league fixtures.

After meekly surrendering a 1-0 lead at home to rock-bottom Southampton before ultimately losing 2-1, Lampard is wary his time could be up in the Merseyside if he fails to beat fellow strugglers West Ham at the London Stadium.

Everton Team News

James Garner, Nathan Patterson, Michael Keane and Andros Townsend are all out injured at the moment for Everton.

Predicted Everton Lineup vs West Ham (3-4-2-1)

Goalkeeper

Jordan Pickford has been the first-choice in goal for Everton and there are no doubts over his involvement against West Ham.

Defence

Everton are expected to retain the back-five system despite the defeat against Southampton, given how well it has worked when playing away from home. Ben Godfrey’s introduction adds some much-needed pace to the Everton backline, which should also feature James Tarkowski and Conor Coady.

The trio of Godfrey, Tarkowski and Coady have to be wary of West Ham’s quick counter-attacks on Saturday if they are to keep a clean sheet. Mason Holgate and Yerry Mina should offer cover for the defensive positions from the bench.

Midfield

Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye will hold the midfield for Everton as the duo are expected to be tasked with gaining control of the game as quickly as possible. They have to be smart and crisp with their passing, whilst being tenacious when it comes to winning back possession from West Ham.

Operating from the wing-back positions, Seamus Coleman and Vitalii Mykolenko will have the license to get forward at every chance they get and cause a few problems for the opposition in the final third.

If Frank Lampard feels the need to add more bite and energy in midfield, he will have options in Abdoulaye Doucoure and Tom Davies to bring from the bench.

Attack

Alex Iwobi has arguably been Everton’s best player this season and he will look to make a difference in the final third from an advanced role. Demarai Gray will try to put his pace and movement to create problems for the West Ham backline.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge in attack for Everton, hoping to find the back of the net and make a real difference against the Hammers. Neal Maupay has failed to make a telling impression since arriving at the club from Brighton last summer and should start on the bench again.
