Brighton & Hove Albion will look to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
The Seagulls beat Chelsea 4-1 at the Amex Stadium last time out—their first victory under manager Roberto de Zerbi—to end a five-game winless run in the league. It was a complete performance from the south coast side that lifted them up to eighth in the table.
The victory over Chelsea should give De Zerbi and his men a lot of confidence heading into the game against Wolves, who have won just once in their last five games and lie 19th in the standings.
Joel Veltman missed the win over Chelsea with a calf problem and remains a doubt for Saturday’s game.
Adam Lallana and Kaoru Mitoma provided a double injury boost by returning to the team last time out, and the duo should be available to face Wolves.
Goalkeeper
Roberto Sanchez made some brilliant saves in Brighton’s big win over Chelsea last time out. The Spaniard is a shoo-in to start in goal again.
Defence
Roberto de Zerbi made a slight adjustment from his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation to 4-2-3-1 against Chelsea and reaped rich dividends.
He is likely to stick with it at the weekend, with Lewis Dunk partnering Adam Webster in central defence in the Brighton lineup.
Pervis Estupinan had a solid outing at left-back against Chelsea and should retain his place at the back in the Brighton lineup, while Pascal Gross should get the nod at right-back over Tariq Lamptey again.
De Zerbi will expect his team’s defence to keep things solid and tight against Wolves.
Midfield
Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister and Adam Lallana will make up Brighton’s midfield as they focus on gaining more control over Wolves at the centre of the park.
Caicedo and Mac Allister will form the double pivot in the engine room, hoping to progress the ball well and engineer meaningful opportunities in the final third for the forwards.
Lallana should act as the glue between midfield and attack, bringing creativity and energy to the table. His movement and passing will be crucial in breaching the Wolves defence.
Attack
Brighton’s standout performer this term, Leandro Trossard will lead the line for Brighton and hope to continue his rich vein of form in front of goal.
Kaoru Mitoma and Solly March must try to offer support to Trossard from the right and left wing, respectively in the Brighton lineup.
Billy Gilmour, Julio Enciso and Deniz Undav will be named on the bench but might come on to influence the game at some point in the second half if the Seagulls are in need of a goal by then.
