Predicted Tottenham lineup vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Tottenham Hotspur turn their attention towards Champions League football on Tuesday evening when they travel to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spurs got underway in Europe with a comfortable 2-0 home win over 10-man Marseille, but followed that with a 2-0 loss to Sporting CP in Portugal.

Antonio Conte’s side slipped to their first Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday when they lost 3-1 to north London rivals, so the Italian tactician will want a rousing response from his boys at Eintracht Frankfurt, who are tied on points with Tottenham.

Tottenham Team News

Dejan Kulusevski sat out the north London derby loss to Arsenal and will miss the trip to Frankfurt, too, while Lucas Moura is still out with a calf problem. Ben Davies has recovered from a hairline fracture and will be in the travelling squad.

Predicted Tottenham Lineup vs Eintracht Frankfurt (3-4-2-1)

Goalkeeper

Hugo Lloris was culpable for Arsenal’s second goal against Spurs at the Emirates Stadium. The experienced French shot-stopper will be desperate to make amends and put in a solid performance at Frankfurt.

Defence

Antonio Conte is likely to stick with his 3-4-2-1 formation, with Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Clement Lenglet forming the back three ahead of Lloris.

Having endured a tough time dealing with the Arsenal attackers, Romero, Dier and Lenglet must produce top-notch displays in defence to help Spurs return home from Germany with a positive result.

Midfield

Up ahead in midfield, Conte may decide to shuffle his pack and hand Yves Bissouma just his second start of the new season. Bissouma’s ability to stop attacks whilst keeping things ticking over will be crucial in the middle of the park. If he is selected, the Malian will replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Spurs will once again rely on Rodrigo Bentancur to initiate attacks from a deeper midfield role. The Uruguayan should partner Bissouma in the engine room. Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon will try to widen the flank from the right and left wing-back positions, respectively.

Attack

With Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura injured, Richarlison is a certainty to keep his place in the starting XI. Richarlison and Son Heung-min will be in further advanced roles, and the pacey duo will look to cause problems to the Frankfurt backline on a regular basis.

Leading the Tottenham attack will be none other than Harry Kane, who scored a penalty in the derby defeat to Arsenal. The England international will be raring to get on the score sheet again and lead his team to all three points against Frankfurt.
