Barnes & Maddison On The Flanks: 4-1-4-1 Leicester City Predicted XI vs Bournemouth

Leicester City will look to pick up their first away win in the Premier League on Saturday when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth.

The Foxes put in their best performance of the season on Monday night, beating East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest 4-0 to pick up their first three points. A first-half brace from James Maddison and goals from Harvey Barnes and Patson Daka sealed the deal for them.

Leicester’s first win would have eased some immediate pressure off Brendan Rodgers’ shoulders, but he is wary of the consequences if his side fails to beat Bournemouth at the weekend.

Leicester City Team News

Wilfred Ndidi came off at half-time against Nottingham Forest with a slight hamstring problem, and will miss out tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand are long-term absentees for the Foxes.

Nampalys Mendy is also a major doubt.

Predicted Leicester City Lineup vs Bournemouth (4-1-4-1)

Goalkeeper

Danny Ward kept his first clean sheet of the season in Leicester City’s big win over Forest. The Welshman will be aiming to shut up shop as quickly as possible against Bournemouth.

Defence

Brendan Rodgers could stick to the 4-1-4-1 formation and will instruct his players to keep a solid shape at the back and try to catch Bournemouth off-guard on the counter. The defensive performances of Jonny Evans and Wout Faes could go a long way in determining the fate of this game.

Evans and Faes will continue their partnership in central defence in the Leicester City lineup, with Timothy Castagne and James Justin operating from the full-back positions. Both Castagne and Justin must provide an attacking threat down the wide areas while being defensively switched on during transitions at the Vitality Stadium.

Midfield

Wilfred Ndidi is an important cog in this Foxes side, and his absence will be a big blow to Rodgers. The manager is expected to ask Boubakary Soumare to deputise in the No.6 role in the Leicester City lineup and offer much-needed protection to the back four.

football formations

James Maddison has been the shining light for Leicester in an otherwise grim campaign so far. Fresh from a brace against Forest, Maddison will be keen to continue his solid form and script another victory for his team. He will provide creativity from the right wing, with Harvey Barnes offering plenty of pace off the left in the Leicester City lineup.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Youri Tielemans, operating as the two No.8s ahead of Soumare, will be tasked with creating meaningful opportunities in the final third. However, the pair must also perform their defensive duties when needed to stop Bournemouth from progressing up field.

Attack

Leading the Leicester attack will be Jamie Vardy, who is still searching for his first goal of the season. Patson Daka, Ayoze Perez and Kelechi Iheanacho offer Rodgers strong offensive options off the bench.
