7 Changes From Midweek: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal XI vs Leeds United

Arsenal will look to make it four Premier League wins on the bounce on Sunday when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United.

The Gunners are at the summit of the Premier League, playing some lovely stuff under Mikel Arteta. They followed the massive 3-2 win over Liverpool with a narrow 1-0 success against Bodo/Glimt away in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

With Man City not in action until their late trip to Liverpool, Mikel Arteta’s side could temporarily go four points clear at the top with victory over a tricky Leeds United side on their home turf.

Arsenal Team News

Gabriel Jesus was rested in midweek and didn’t travel with the squad to Bodo/Glimt. However, he is expected to be a part of the Arsenal squad for the trip to Leeds United.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has been missing games with a muscle problem, while Emile Smith Rowe (groin surgery) and Mohamed Elneny (hamstring) are long-term absentees.

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Aaron Ramsdale enjoyed sufficient rest in midweek as Arteta chose Matt Turner in goal against Bodo/Glimt in Norway. The England international will come straight back into the Arsenal lineup in the game at Elland Road.

Defence

In front of Ramsdale, William Saliba will resume his centre-back partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes in the Arsenal lineup. The duo has kept things neat and tidy at the back so far this season, and Arteta would hope for something similar on Sunday as well.

Kieran Tierney played the full 90 minutes against Bodo/Glimt, so he could make way for Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back, whereas Ben White retains his place at right-back in the Arsenal lineup. Both the Arsenal full-backs could be in for stern tests from Sinisterra and Aaronson.

Midfield

Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey came on as substitutes against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, but are a certainty to start in the double pivot at Elland Road in the Arsenal lineup. Partey’s presence gives the Gunners stability and calmness in midfield while allowing Xhaka to make more runs into the box and contribute to the team’s attacking cause.

With Partey and Xhaka trying to control the game, Martin Odegaard should have the task of slipping into pockets of spaces in behind the Leeds midfield and try and wreak havoc.

Attack

Gabriel Jesus will return to the Arsenal lineup today. The Brazilian has transformed the Arsenal attack with his goals, movement, physicality and game intelligence. He will lead the line again, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli tasked with bringing pace and flair on the flanks.

Eddie Nketiah, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Fabio Vieira could get involved in the second half of the game against Jesse Marsch’s side.
