Man United vs Tottenham Preview – Team News, Predicted XIs, Key Players & Prediction

Manchester United welcome top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford on Saturday, with the race for Champions League qualification heating up.

The Red Devils’ top-four hopes have been dealt a massive blow in recent weeks, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Watford before being torn apart by Manchester City.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are currently fifth, one point behind Arsenal having played three more games.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have been plagued by inconsistency. Antonio Conte’s men found a way to tame the rampaging Manchester City, but followed it up with a limp 1-0 defeat at Burnley.

They have, however, scored nine goals across their last two league outings and are looking to win three successive games for the first time since December.

The last time these two sides met, United, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the time, dismantled Spurs 3-0.

The hosts will be without Luke Shaw, who is still recovering from COVID-19. Raphael Varane, however, is expected to return to the side.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani are both in contention to play after shaking off their respective injuries, but Scott McTominay will miss out due to a calf strain.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka had a torrid time against Manchester City and could be replaced by Diogo Dalot.

Tottenham Hotspur

Ryan Sessegnon has been ruled out of the trip to Manchester with a muscle problem. Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp are also unavailable.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur – Key Players

Manchester United – Jadon Sancho

The Englishman initially appeared to struggle with the weight of his price tag following his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. But he has shown glimpses of his best in recent weeks.

Sancho scored a fantastic goal in the 4-1 loss to Manchester City and will look to keep his form going against Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur – Harry Kane

After a slow start to the season, Harry Kane has caught fire. The England captain has netted five times in his last four league games, including a brace against champions Manchester City. His two strikes last weekend against Everton moved him to sixth on the all-time list of Premier League’s top scorers.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
