Zouma to Return – Team News, Predicted West Ham United Lineup vs Newcastle United

West Ham United will look to snap Newcastle United’s three-game winning streak and boost their own top-four credentials when they host the Magpies in the Premier League on Saturday.

West Ham’s bid for a Champions League spot has stalled in recent weeks, with David Moyes’s side winning just one of their last four league games. But they still find themselves in fifth spot, two points behind Manchester United.

The last meeting between Newcastle and West Ham ended in a 4-2 victory to the Hammers.

West Ham United Team News

David Moyes will not be able to call on the services of either Angelo Ogbonna or Arthur Masuaku, who are still sidelined due to injury. But Kurt Zouma has overcome illness and should be available.

Said Benrahma is pushing for a start, while Jarrod Bowen is expected to feature after shaking off a minor knock.

Goalkeeper

Lukasz Fabianski will start between the sticks for West Ham. The Pole has kept six clean sheets in the league this season.

Defenders

Moyes has a big call to make regarding the composition of his defence. He could bring Kurt Zouma back into the West Ham United lineup, possibly in place of Issa Diop, who gave a good account of himself against Leicester City.

Craig Dawson will likely partner Zouma in the heart of the defence. The 31-year-old scored a rare goal in the 2-2 draw with Leicester last week. Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell will start as the full-backs in the West Ham United lineup.

Midfielders

Declan Rice is one of the first names on the teamsheet. The England international has developed into one of the finest central midfielders in the league and will be tasked with breaking up Newcastle’s attacks and driving his team forward in transition.

Thomas Soucek will partner Rice in central midfield. The Czech was West Ham’s player of the season in the 2020-21 campaign, but has not really kicked on this season. However, he remains an integral part of West Ham’s engine room.

Manuel Lanzini should retain his No. 10 spot. The Argentinian adds creativity and energy to the West Ham midfield.

Attackers

If fit Jarrod Bowen will start on the right flank. The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists for West Ham in 25 games this season. Said Benrahma could replace Pablo Fornals on the left, with Michail Antonio leading the line as always in the West Ham United lineup.
