Liverpool will look to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to London Stadium to face West Ham United on Sunday.
The Reds dropped points after being held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton at Anfield last Saturday. They responded in the midweek Champions League fixture with a comprehensive 2-0 home victory over 10-man Atletico Madrid.
However, Jürgen Klopp’s side are in for a tough battle at the weekend against a West Ham side that are on a three-game winning run in the league.
Liverpool Team News
Roberto Firmino was forced off with a serious hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid, and has been sidelined for the next few weeks.
James Milner (hamstring), Naby Keita (thigh), Curtis Jones (face) and Joe Gomez (calf) through injury will likely return after the international break.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs West Ham (4-3-3)
Goalkeeper
Alisson Becker is the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for Liverpool and he is set to start against West Ham United on Sunday.
Defence
Trent Alexander-Arnold is arguably the best right-back in the Premier League and is a certainty to make the Liverpool lineup.
Virgil van Dijk is a rock at the back and his leadership skills and game reading acumen will be key if the Reds are to keep a clean sheet. Partnering Van Dijk could be Joel Matip, who had a solid game in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid. Ibrahima Konate is also in with a shout if Klopp decides to go with a more agile centre-half against Michail Antonio.
Andrew Robertson will be recalled to the Liverpool lineup after he was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s European clash with Atletico Madrid.
Midfield
A slew of unfortunate injuries have limited Klopp’s midfield options. The trio of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain did well in the Reds engine room against Atletico Madrid.
The German tactician is likely to stick with the trio against the Hammers with Thiago Alcantara a solid option to have on the bench.
Attack
Mohamed Salah is in unbelievable form and will be raring to get himself on the score sheet at the London Stadium. He is arguably the best player in the world at the moment and the West Ham defenders will have to be at their very best to stop the Egyptian.
Sadio Mane hasn’t been at his sublime best this season but he scored in the 2-0 win over Atleti in midweek. With his pace, power and movement, the Senegalese will look to run in behind the West Ham backline whilst causing problems with his link-up play with Salah and Jota.
With Firmino suffering a serious hamstring injury, Diogo Jota is the natural replacement to start up front for the Reds.
