Messi and Neymar to Return – Team News, Predicted 4-3-3 PSG Lineup vs RB Leipzig

Paris Saint-Germain will look to bounce back to winning ways in the Champions League when they welcome RB Leipzig to Parc des Princes on Tuesday evening.

The Parisians registered a 2-0 victory over Manchester City in their last Champions League group-stage game thanks to goals from Idrissa Gueye and Lionel Messi.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men pick up a hard-fought win in Ligue 1 with a 2-1 comeback win over Angers on Friday night.

The win there should give them some confidence ahead of the RB Leipzig European tie, as they played that fixture without some key first-team players.

Paris Saint-Germain Team News

Keylor Navas missed the game against Angers with a knock and remains doubtful for Tuesday’s fixture. Angel Di Maria serves the final game of his European suspension this week, while Sergio Ramos has suffered another injury setback with a calf problem.

Paris Saint-Germain will be boosted with the return of Neymar, Lionel Messi, Leandro Paredes and Marquinhos to the team—the quartet had missed the Angers game due to international commitments.

Meanwhile, Juan Bernat made his first appearance since September 2020 on Friday, coming off the bench to help PSG win against Angers.

Goalkeeper

Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to continue between the sticks for PSG.

Defence

Achraf Hakimi came on as a substitute in PSG’s win over Angers but is expected to start on Tuesday evening at right-back. Marquinhos walks straight into the PSG lineup after missing out on the last game and will partner Presnel Kimpembe at the heart of the PSG backline.

Even though Juan Bernat is back to full fitness and played 30 minutes on Friday, Nuno Mendes may get the nod to start at left-back.

Midfield

Idrissa Gueye has been a crucial cog in the PSG lineup, and having not featured in the last Ligue 1 game, he’ll be fresh to make a mark against RB Leipzig.

With his passing skills and reading of the game, Marco Verratti is a certain starter in the PSG midfield. Ander Herrera’s energy and pressing will be key if PSG are to dominate the game from minute one.

Attack

Both Lionel Messi and Neymar are back and rested after international commitments, and the duo will join Kylian Mbappe to form a formidable PSG attack.

The trio joined hands to beat a star-studded Manchester City in the club’s last European outing, so RB Leipzig defenders will have to be at the top of their games to stop them in Paris.
