Manchester United will hope to get some points on the board in the Champions League on Wednesday when they host Villarreal at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils lost their first Champions League game of the season, falling to Young Boys due to a poor back pass by Jesse Lingard.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men will not have good memories of playing Villarreal as they lost on penalties to them in last season’s Europa League final. Manchester United are in a poor run of form presently as they have lost three of their last four games in all competitions.
Team News
Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo are on the mend and are back in training, but they are still not ready to return to the side.

Defenders Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire were substituted off in the loss against Aston Villa. While Maguire has been ruled out, Shaw could make the bench.
Let’s take a look at the possible Manchester United team for the game against Villarreal.
Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs Villarreal
Goalkeeper
David de Gea will likely keep his place in the side, while Dean Henderson could return to the squad for the Champions League game.
Defence
Raphael Varane, who didn’t start the first Champions League game, will likely make the Manchester United lineup. Maguire, if he’s unavailable, will be replaced by Victor Lindelof.
Alex Telles should take Luke Shaw’s place in the left-back spot. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is suspended, so Diogo Dalot is expected to start at right-back for Wednesday’s game.
Midfield
Manchester United’s midfield was overrun in the game against Aston Villa, while they didn’t impress in the loss to Young Boys as well. Nemanja Matic could come into the Manchester United lineup to offer passing and solidity in midfield. Scott McTominay, who was substituted in the loss to Villa, could keep his place in the lineup.

Bruno Fernandes will look to recover from his missed penalty when he starts in the No. 10 role. The likes of Fred, Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba could be options from the bench.
Attack
Jadon Sancho, who was an unused substitute over the weekend, could start, playing off the left. He could replace Pogba in the Manchester United lineup. Mason Greenwood looked lively in the league and he will keep his place on the right, while Cristiano Ronaldo will play upfront.
Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial are options in the wide areas, while Edinson Cavani will be an option upfront.
