Man United Star Wants A Loan Move: 3 Potential Destinations Including Wolves| Opinion

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson wants a loan spell away from Old Trafford in January to get some first-team football. According to The Sun, Henderson wants to go out on loan as he believes that David de Gea is once again the No. 1 at the club.

Henderson made his first appearance for the team in the 0-1 loss against West Ham United in the League cup. The Englishman only recently returned to training after recovering from the after-effects of COVID-19.

The England international played 26 times for the club in all competitions last season. He had to pull out of the England squad for Euro 2020 due to a hip injury.

With Dean Henderson seeking game time, here are three Premier League clubs that could make a move for him in January.

Wolves

Wolves have been unlucky so far in the Premier League season under new manager Bruno Lage. They are just a point above the relegation zone and have won just one game in the league so far. Lage’s men put in good performances against Manchester United and Tottenham but couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net.

Wolves have a new goalkeeper between the sticks this season, Jose Sa, who replaced the outgoing Rui Patricio. Sa hasn’t quite impressed for the club and may need a while before getting used to the physicality of the Premier League. Henderson could get some game time at Wolves as he has experience of playing in the Premier League. The addition of Dean Henderson will give Sa time to get accustomed to the league.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United have had a miserable start to the league, while they also lost their first and second-choice keepers through injury – Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow. Darlow returned recently against Leeds United, but Dubravka is still on the sidelines.

Dean Henderson could be a good addition to the team if Darlow or Dubravka suffer further injuries and will be a useful stop-gap quality solution.

Watford

Watford have had a good start to the Premier League season on their return to England’s top-flight. The Hornets have won two of their five opening games of the league season. They have solid depth in all areas of the pitch, but the goalkeeper position may lack some quality. Ben Foster has vast Premier League experience, but at 38 years of age, he is a short-term option for them and might not be as reliable given injury issues.

Austrian keeper Daniel Bachmann has played four of the five games, and has been average at best. A keeper like Henderson could be the difference maker for them in terms of staying up in the league this season.
