Arsenal Will Have To Work Hard To Secure La Liga Forward’s Signature: Good Option For Arteta?

Arsenal could make a move for Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri in the upcoming transfer windows. The Moroccan international had a fantastic 2020-21 season with the Spanish side, scoring 24 goals in 52 games – his best season in club football.

La Colina de Nervion have reported that the Gunners are interested in the 24-year-old and Sevilla could be interested in selling him. The La Liga side could let him leave if a good offer comes in. The player, though, is keen to stay at the club as he is in love with the city and the club. He informed director of football Monchi, that he is not keen on leaving, but another good season could see several clubs come in for him.

West Ham United were also reportedly interested in signing him in the summer. En-Nesyri has four years remaining on his current deal at Sevilla.

Youssef En-Nesyri: Should the Gunners push for a move?

Arsenal, who seem to want to bring in young players and move on older players, could shift one of their star names next summer: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gunners captain is one of the highest-paid players at the club, but his form over the last 18 months has been very poor. Fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette has also been average and he could leave on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.

The potential exits of Aubameyang and Lacazette would leave the Gunners with just two first-team forwards – Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun – both young and inexperienced. Manager Mikel Arteta will want a player with a lot more experience – and goals – to take up the striker’s position at the club.

Youssef En-Nesyri could be a good addition to the North London club’s squad, as he is a striker that can hold the ball up, play with his back to goal, and score plenty. The 24-year-old is a strong and powerful forward who can brush aside defenders with his strength, while he can also drift past players with his acceleration. The 6’2″ striker is good in the air as well, averaging 2.5 aerial wins per game in the league last season.

He is a calm and composed finisher inside the box and cleverly positions himself in the area. En-Neysri has the qualities to settle into the Premier League’s style of play and be a success. The Moroccan’s strength and aerial ability could allow the Gunners to play more direct when needed. Youssef En-Nesyri is at an age when he will improve and become an even better striker and the Gunners should make a move for him.
