Arsenal eye a move for £20million rated Dutch attacker: A solid long-term addition?

Arsenal are reportedly one of the three teams interested in signing Club Brugge winger Noa Lang next summer.

The Gunners were the biggest spenders in the recent transfer window, splashing around £150 million to rebuild their squad after their disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League. While they signed as many as six players in the summer, Mikel Arteta is already planning to make more additions to his squad at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, Noa Lang has emerged as a target for Arsenal after his Man of the Match display in Club Brugge’s 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week. The report adds Leicester City and AC Milan are also interested in the Dutch forward, who is valued at around £20 million by the Belgian outfit.

Noa Lang, 22, had an excellent last season with Club Brugge as he was involved in as many as 22 goals. The winger, who recently renewed his contract with the Belgian outfit until 2025, has managed to reproduce that form this term, contributing three goals and four assists in eight league games so far.

Noa Lang to Arsenal—A solid long-term addition?

Despite spending a lot of money in the transfer window, Arsenal have endured a poor start to the new Premier League season. While they have bounced back with back-to-back wins over Norwich City and Burnley respectively after defeats in the opening three games, Mikel Arteta’s squad remains miles away from competing with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool for the league title.

Considering the Gunners targeted the profile of young, hungry and talented players with huge potential in this past transfer window, Club Brugge’s Noa Lang would fit the bill perfectly at the Emirates Stadium.

Predominantly a left-winger, Lang is comfortable operating down the right flank and can lead the attack as well when required. The 22-year-old is quick, skilful and industrious, and can open up any defence with his incisive passing, vision and crossing ability. The Dutchman is adept at dribbling past players and creating chances in the final third, whilst equally good at finishing the chances that come his way.

The former Ajax man is a huge talent with the potential to become a superstar in the future. Lang’s stock in Europe has skyrocketed in the last couple of years, and he is at the right age to make the step up from Jupiler Pro League to the Premier League.

At 22, Lang will perhaps want to take his game forward and a move to Arsenal should be ideal. With Alexandre Lacazette already in the final year of his contract, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang well into his 30s and Nicolas Pepe yet to justify his big price tag, the Gunners must prioritise recruiting the Club Brugge star in the summer of 2022.
