One Key Change Expected: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leicester City Lineup vs Norwich City

Leicester City suffered a surprising defeat against West Ham United last weekend in the Premier League. The Foxes face struggling Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday and will be expected to take all three points.

In the last meeting between the two sides back in early 2020, Norwich narrowly won the game 1-0 at home. Daniel Farke’s men, though, have suffered heavy defeats in the opening two games of the season, losing 3-0 to Liverpool and 5-0 to Manchester City.

Let’s take a look at the possible Leicester City lineup for the game against Norwich City.

Team News

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has several injury worries ahead of Saturday’s game. Centre-backs Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana will miss the game through injury, as will full-back James Justin.

Summer signing Jannik Vestergaard is close to a return but remains out for Saturday’s fixture.

Ryan Bertrand is back in training and will be monitored closer to kick off. Midfielder Nampalys Mendy will miss out due to a groin-related injury. Ayoze Perez will miss out on Saturday’s game through suspension after being sent off against West Ham United.

Predicted Leicester City lineup vs Norwich City (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Captain Kasper Schmeichel should start in goal for Leicester City.

Defence

Caglar Soyuncu should start in defence in the Leicester City lineup, and due to the continued absence of Jannik Vestergaard we will see Daniel Amartey continue alongside him in central defence.

Luke Thomas is likely to start at left-back in the Leicester City lineup. But we could see a bit of tinkering on the right flank due to the absence of Ayoze Perez.

Timothy Castagne could be handed the right-back role given his versatility.

Ryan Bertrand is likely to be inducted post the international break.

Midfield

Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi, Rodgers’ first-choice midfield pairing, should start the game against Norwich City. James Maddison should start in the No. 10 role in the Leicester City lineup.

Summer signing Boubakary Soumare is an option in central midfield as is Belgian international Dennis Praet.

Attack

Ayoze Perez’s suspension has thrown up a problem for manager Brendan Rodgers. He could start veteran winger Marc Albrighton on the right side but we think it is possible he pushes Ricardo Pereira up the field in a right-wing position in the Leicester City lineup.

Harvey Barnes should start off the left for Leicester, while Jamie Vardy will play as the main striker.

Kelechi Iheanacho also has a chance to feature if Rodgers decides to tinker with his formation in Perez’s absence.

Summer signing Patson Daka will be an option off the bench for Brendan Rodgers, whose speed and dribbling could be a threat in the second half against Norwich City.
