Leeds United Eye A Transfer For 14-Goal Wing-Wizard: How Will He Fit In Under Bielsa?

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Rangers winger Ryan Kent this summer. Kent had a fantastic 2020-21 season for the Scottish club, helping the side to their first league title in ten years.

As per The Athletic, Rangers could sell several of their players after crashing out of the Champions League in the qualifiers. One of those players is Ryan Kent, who is being tracked by Leeds United.

A report earlier this year had claimed that the Whites may have to pay almost £18 million for the 24-year-old. He was bought from Liverpool for a fee of £6.5 million in 2019.

Kent still has two years remaining on his current deal at Rangers. The Englishman has scored 27 goals and 29 assists in 132 appearances for Rangers in all competitions.

How will Ryan Kent fit in at Leeds United?

Ryan Kent was in splendid form for Rangers last season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 15 times in 52 games for the club. He was a key player for the Scottish side in what was a historic season for The Gers.

Kent is a left-sided winger who likes to drive at defences with his close control, speed and dribbling. The Liverpool academy graduate is a quick and fearless dribbler, who likes to cut inside from the left and take on defenders at will.

He averaged 1.9 dribbles per game in the Scottish league last season for Rangers. He is unafraid to take shots on goal from distance and scored a few spectacular goals last season. He averaged 2.4 shots on goal per game in the 2020-21 season.

Kent would be a fantastic addition to the Leeds United squad thanks to his exceptional control and speed with the ball, and his willingness to run all game. He can be a threat in counter-attacking situations, while he is also good at holding the ball to bring his teammates into play.

Leeds United’s high energy, attacking game would suit Kent’s style of play and he could add a new dimension to the Whites’ attack. Jack Harrison has done a fine job on the left side of attack, but with no natural, quality alternatives on the left, manager Marcelo Bielsa needs another winger as an option on the left.

Kent could be an impact player off the bench, as his pace and dribbling could expose weak and tired defences. He will also be a good alternative to Harrison, if the former Manchester City player needs a rest or is out of form. Kent is young, quick, and has the X-Factor to make a difference for his side.
