Man United Could Soon Have To Make A Decision Regarding A £43m Bid For Star Player

Manchester United may be willing to sell star midfielder Paul Pogba to Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The Frenchman rejoined the Red Devils from Juventus in 2016 in a big-money move, but he hasn’t quite lived up to his huge price tag.

As per Daily Mail, PSG think they could make United sell Pogba to them for a bargain fee of around £43 million. The French giants are going to sell a number of players to generate funds to sign the United midfielder. Pogba’s current deal with Manchester United expires next summer. The report states that there has been no contact between United and PSG, but Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is set to begin talks with the French side.

Paul Pogba has scored 38 goals and assisted 45 times in 199 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Paul Pogba: Should United sell him for the price?

It seems like Paul Pogba may not be a Manchester United player beyond the upcoming season. The Frenchman has blown hot and cold at the club since his return from Italy, and hasn’t really been consistent enough for the side.

Many had hoped that Pogba’s arrival at Old Trafford would result in trophies, especially league titles, but all it has accounted for is an EFL Cup and Europa League. His agent has ruffled a lot of feathers and managed to create unrest among fans following comments about Pogba’s disinterest in staying at Old Trafford, in the midst of a crucial season for Ole and the club.

It seems like the love affair between Manchester United and Paul Pogba has to come to an end – and soon. United can’t risk losing a player they paid £89 million to leave on a free transfer. They will want to recoup some of the money they paid to sign him and a fee of £43 million seems a reasonable figure for a player who’s in the final year of his contract, and even more so in the current transfer climate.

Selling Pogba before the 2021-22 season could allow Manchester United to bring in a replacement for him and help United push for the Premier League title. With the impending arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, the addition of a creative midfielder could make the Red Devils a strong side for the upcoming season.

Even if Manchester United aren’t keen on cashing in on Paul Pogba and are ready to allow him to leave on a free transfer next season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be looking towards building a side that can stay together for a few years and forge a fresh chemistry in a younger group of players.

Allowing Pogba to leave this summer will be the best move for both player and club.
