Manchester City are looking to sign Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola is believed to be a great admirer of the 25-year old attacker. Sources have informed ESPN that the reigning Premier League champions are willing to make a move for Grealish this summer. The stocks of the Villa playmaker have risen consistently over the last two seasons.
His performances for both club and country have shown that he deserves to be in a team that fights for titles. He started both the Euro 2020 warm-up games and won the decisive penalty against Romania. He put in impressive displays in both the games and could retain his number 10 spot for the game against Croatia next week.

The Claret and Blue signed Norwich City attacking midfielder Emiliano Buendia recently. According to ESPN, Manchester City are encouraged by this news as they believe that the club is already planning for a potential Grealish departure. If Villa allows their main-man to leave the club, the Citizens will be ready to pounce for his signature.
Jack Grealish’s arrival to signal an end for Raheem Sterling at Manchester City?
Pep Guardiola traditionally favours a 4-3-3 formation with his midfielders overlapping from the centre of the pitch. Jack Grealish prefers to play either on the left or in the number 10 position. However, the left-wing spot belongs to Raheem Sterling. City’s number 7 has struggled for form this past season. In 49 appearances in the 2020/21 season, he scored 14 goals and provided 9 assists. In the Premier League, he managed to find the back of the net only 10 times, the lowest since the 2016/17 campaign.
He was surprisingly picked in the starting lineup of the Champions League final which they lost 1-0 to Chelsea. Sterling was ineffective throughout his time on the pitch as he struggled to get past Reece James. With Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden in the squad, he has a huge task on his hands to break into the starting eleven.
Pep has always liked Raheem Sterling and the Catalan has transformed the player during their time at the Etihad but Manchester City are seemingly open to hearing offers for their players this summer with an open mind. If a big offer for their out-of-form star player coincides with the Englishman’s desire to play for the potential suitors, a deal could well materialize.
And any exit in the attacking contingent could trigger a move for Jack Grealish. The Aston Villa man is a type of player who always looks to create chances. His quick turn of pace and dribbling skills often helps his team to win free-kicks in crucial positions. He featured only 24 times for Aston Villa in the league this season due to injuries. Despite that, he scored six goals and provided 10 assists.
Jack Grealish also features in the top 5 for the ‘most chances created’ and ‘most fouls won’ category. Considering the quality of players he will have around him at Manchester City, one can expect him to score and assist in double-digits regularly if indeed the move materialises.
