Group F of Euro 2020 — the Group of Death — will feature World Cup winners France, Euro 2016 winners Portugal, Germany, and Hungary.
France and Germany both won their groups in the qualifying stages of the competition, while Portugal finished runners-up to secure their Euro 2020 berth. Hungary, meanwhile, had to navigate past Bulgaria and Iceland in the play-offs to qualify for the competition.
The matches will be played in Hungary and Germany, at the Puskas Arena in Budapest and Allianz Arena in Munich, respectively.
The group will see a rematch of the Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France, where the match ended 1-0 in Portugal’s favour. But, the French will be the favourites to not only top this group but also win the entire competition.

The two sides will be the favourites to go deep in the tournament, owing to their superior squads and star names. The two have met twice since their Euro 2016 final, with one match ending in a 0-0 draw and the other going in the favour of France, who won 1-0.
Euro 2020 Group F – Players to watch
France have a number of big-name players who can turn the game on its head in a second. The likes of Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann, N’Golo Kante and the recently returned Karim Benzema, could make a big impact for their side. The 22-year-old scored a whopping 42 goals for club side Paris Saint-Germain in the 2020-21 season – his best season yet in club level. And one shouldn’t discount the impact that Olivier Giroud could have on the team, as he has delivered on the international stage time and again in recent years.
For Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo will be the player on everybody’s lips, who will be an influential figure for the Portuguese. Diogo Jota has been superb for club and country in recent months and has speed and superb finishing could be a threat to opponents.
As for Germany, all eyes will be on Ilkay Gundogan, who was fantastic for Manchester City last season, as well as Serge Gnabry, who has become a key player for Germany.
Euro 2020 Group F – Prediction
France and Portugal are favourites to progress to the next stage of the competition from Group F, as Germany have been written off by quite a few fans.
Joachim Low knows his side will have to punch above their weight to knock one of Portugal or France out of the top two.
