Old rivals England and Germany will clash against each other at Euro 2020 on Tuesday night in Wembley.
England were undefeated in the group stages of the competition and topped their group. Germany, on the other hand, had mixed results; they lost to France, drew against Hungary, and beat reigning champions Portugal 4-2.
The last four games between England and Germany have all come in international friendlies, where Germany have the better record, winning twice and losing just once.
Let’s take a look at the key players to watch out for in the game between England and Germany.
Euro 2020- England vs Germany: 5 players to watch out for
#1 Kai Havertz
Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz featured in all three group games as part of the German front three. Havertz has scored in his last two games against Portugal and Hungary, and he could be a goal-scoring threat thanks to his ability to find space in and around the box.
Havertz could also be instrumental in finding pockets of space and threading balls into his fellow attackers and his quick thinking will be key against a defensive English side.

#2 Jack Grealish
Jack Grealish was the star for England during their 1-0 win against the Czech Republic, and he assisted the only goal of the game. If England manager Gareth Southgate persists with the same 4-2-3-1 formation, Grealish could be one of the frontrunners for the No. 10 position.
The Aston Villa’s attacker’s creativity and dribbling could prove to be key in what could be a crowded midfield area. Even if he doesn’t start the game, he could make an impact off the bench.
#3 Joshua Kimmich
Germany’s wing-backs have been a key part of manager Joachim Low’s system as they have been given the freedom to bomb forward and deliver crosses into the box.
Right wing-back Joshua Kimmich could be a huge threat to the English backline thanks to his work rate, dribbling ability, and most importantly, his deadly crosses.
The Bayern Munich player will have to provide width to the German attack while also keep the likes of Raheem Sterling quiet.
#4 Luke Shaw
English left-back Luke Shaw has been superb in the two games that he has played so far in Euro 2020. The Manchester United full-back has created more chances than any other English player in the tournament so far and has attacked from the left at every given opportunity.
England have played defensively, and could play on the counter against Germany, where Shaw’s speed and dribbling could prove to be vital.
#5 Toni Kroos
Toni Kroos is regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation and he could leave a mark on this game from the middle of the park.
The Real Madrid player’s passing and control of the game from midfield could help Germany keep possession of the ball for long periods and frustrate their opponents. Kroos rarely gives the ball away, while he is capable of opening up defences with his long passing as well.
