Pepe and Chambers to Start: Predicted Arsenal 4-2-3-1 Lineup vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal will play their penultimate Premier League game of the 2020-21 season against London rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.

The Gunners have a very slim chance of qualifying for next season’s Europa League and will have to win both their games and hope other results go in their way. The North London club are currently four points behind arch-rivals Tottenham in sixth.

Mikel Arteta’s side registered an impressive 1-0 win against in-form Chelsea last time around, which made it three wins on the bounce in the league for the Gunners.

The last time Arsenal and Crystal Palace face each other, the match ended in an uneventful 0-0 draw. Arsenal haven’t beaten Palace since 2018, when they ran out 4-1 winners.

Arsenal Team News

Granit Xhaka will not be fit for Wednesday night’s game against Crystal Palace, while veteran defender David Luiz is a doubt as well.

Hector Bellerin suffered a knock in the win against Chelsea and was brought off. He, too, could be a doubt for the Palace game.

Let’s take a look at the possible Arsenal lineup for the game against Crystal Palace.

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Crystal Palace

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno will continue in goal for Arsenal on Wednesday. The German needs to bring back some consistency into his game.

Defence

Mikel Arteta played a three-man defence for the game against Chelsea, but the Arsenal manager could revert to a four-man backline against Palace. Gabriel and Rob Holding could play as the two central defenders, with Pablo Mari dropping out of the Arsenal lineup.

Calum Chambers could return to the Arsenal lineup to play at right-back. Kieran Tierney should retain his place at left-back.

Midfield

Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Dani Ceballos are the three central midfielders that Arteta has to choose for his three-man midfield.

Partey put in a good performance against Chelsea and he could play in midfield, with Ceballos coming in to replace Elneny.

Emile Smith Rowe, who scored the lone goal in the win against Chelsea could start as the No. 10 in the Arsenal lineup. Martin Odegaard is another option for Arteta.

Attack

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should continue as the central striker for Arsenal against Crystal Palace. Nicolas Pepe was an unused substitute for the game against Chelsea and he could return to the Arsenal lineup.

The likes of Willian, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are options on the wing. Saka could retain his place on the right side of the attack for Arsenal.
