Chelsea Eye A £80million Move For Attacking Star: How They Might Line Up With Him

Chelsea could enter the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s star winger Jadon Sancho in the summer. Sancho joined the German club in 2017 from Manchester City for around £8 million and has gone on to become one of the best-attacking players in the Bundesliga.

As per The Sun, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the Englishman and wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge in an £80million deal. Premier League rivals Manchester United has pursued Sancho since last summer, and are the favourites to sign the 21-year-old.

The English winger has made 136 appearances for the German club, scoring 50 goals and making 65 assists. His current deal with Dortmund expires in 2023.

Chelsea’s interest in him makes sense, though, as the Blues need attackers who can score more goals this season. So let’s take a look at how they could line up with Sancho in the team.

How Chelsea might line up with Jadon Sancho in the team

Jadon Sancho is regarded as one of the most exciting players in Europe right now, thanks to his exceptional goals and assists tally, his flair, and the potential that he has. The former Manchester City player has had yet another good season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 16 goals and assisting 21 times in just 37 appearances.

Sancho has done exceptionally well for a player who is just 21 years of age and he seems to be ready to take his game to the next level by making a move to a top Premier League side.

Chelsea has had a strong run since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in January with the Blues solid at the back, while also being inventive upfront. The arrival of Sancho at Stamford Bridge will give Tuchel an embarrassment of riches in the attacking areas with the likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, and Timo Werner.

Goalkeeper

Edouard Mendy seems to have cemented his place as the Chelsea No. 1, and could continue in goal next season in the league games once again.

Defence

If Chelsea do not sign a new defender, Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma and Cesar Azpilicueta should start at the back, while Reece James and Ben Chilwell should start as the wing-backs.

Midfield

N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic should start as the two central midfielders for Chelsea, while Jorginho could be an option for the Blues from the bench.

Attack

Jadon Sancho should start in his natural right-wing role if he does sign for Chelsea. Tuchel could persist with Kai Havertz as a striker, while Timo Werner could be an alternate option.

Mason Mount will be a key figure for the Blues next season and he should play off the left or right, or even as part of a midfield three.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic are other options in the wide roles.
