West Ham United Eyeing Transfer For Chelsea Striker: Smart Option For David Moyes

West Ham United have been excellent this campaign under David Moyes. They are still actively fighting to be a part of the top four this season but would seemingly settle for a Europa League spot given the traffic near that part of the table.

The Hammers squandered a chance to move closer to the top four with a loss to Manchester United but even the run they have been on till now deserves a lot of plaudits given that they were embroiled in a relegation fight just last season.

The goalscoring burden, however, has mostly been shouldered by Michail Antonio and his absence has seen Moyes’ side struggle in front of goal. And hence it does not come as a surprise that West Ham are on the lookout for reinforcements in that part of the pitch.

David Moyes has, expectedly, shortlisted a number of potential strikers he will target in the summer. Eddie Nketiah of Arsenal is one, the other being Chelsea’s joint top scorer Tammy Abraham. Moyes wants an impactful striker who can carry on functioning alongside Antonio or push Antonio for the place in the first team. According to The Sun, West Ham are set to come up with a bid for Tammy Abraham this summer.

Abraham has been sidelined since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival and has voiced his concerns recently before getting injured.

Tammy Abraham: Getting the right player at the right time

David Moyes is an exceptional manager and his recruitment policy has more often than not been impeccable, as evidenced from the loan signing of Jesse Lingard, whose absence was felt against his parent club Manchester United. Tammy Abraham, who is an impressive central striker suited to the English game, would add to the competition of places in the squad and also provide Moyes with a varying approach in the final third.

If the Hammers can sustain their form, they will look to build on from here and strengthen in the summer. But at the same time, they need to keep hold of their star performers and for that, the club has to show ambition and bolster key areas of the squad to boost their chances of success next season.

Tammy Abraham’s hold up play is getting better and his movement in the box also has been one of his key strengths. Moyes can work with this and in a more conducive atmosphere where he will be given a sustained amount of game time, Abraham can really flourish and develop into a more allrounder operator.

This is a transfer that makes a lot of sense and one that should be pursued by all parties involved.
