Arsenal are looking to complete a summer transfer for Marseille full-back Jordan Amavi, as per reports.
Amavi joined Marseille in the summer of 2017 from Aston Villa and has developed into one of the best full-backs in Ligue 1.
He has made 121 appearances for Marseille, scoring three goals and assisting on ten occasions, and his impressive performances have led to interest from The Gunners.
According to French outlet Le10 Sport, Jordan Amavi is being pursued by Arsenal. The Gunners could ideally sign the player for free in the coming summer, as his contract comes to an end in July this year
Marseille are keen to extend Amavi’s contract as director Pablo Longoria wants to keep the player in France, but nothing has materialised just yet.
Jordan Amavi – What will he add to Arsenal?
Arsenal already have plans to sign a left-back next summer. The only left-back that they have is Kieran Tierney, and manager Mikel Arteta wants to increase their squad strength as Tierney seems overburdened at the moment.
Jordan Amavi was pretty young when he tasted a bit of English football, and it didn’t work out well for him at Aston Villa. However, he has gained a lot more experience in France as his consistent performances for Marseille have earned him rave reviews.
The 27-year old has 121 appearances for Marseille since joining them from an ill-fated spell at Aston Villa, and his displays have even earned him France manager Didier Deschamps’ approval.
Armed with pace and the ability to put a foot in when needed, Amavi would be a good player to have at Arsenal. Not only can he burst forward during the transitional phases of play, but his recovery pace means he can always get back in time to make a tackle.

The Frenchman fits the profile of the modern full-back, being both daring and creative in his attacking play but still being able to perform his defensive duties admirably.
A player who is often at the right place at the right time, Amavi has averaged an incredible 2.4 interceptions this season. He is at the peak of his prowess, and is perhaps ready for his second spell in the Premier League. (Stats via Whoscored)
Arsenal should push to sign Amavi and make their interest know as Marseille are trying to tie him down to a new deal.
