5 Changes Expected: 5-3-2 Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs RB Leipzig

Manchester United face RB Leipzig tonight with an eye on the much-coveted Round of 16 qualification.

A point will be enough for the Red Devils to guarantee qualification but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not be taking even a minute out of the 90 for granted.

They have been excellent on the road this season and another away trip bodes well if current form is considered. Also, the fact that United thrashed Leipzig 5-0 in the reverse fixture, means there will be a psychological advantage.

PSG face Istanbul in the other remaining fixture of the group. A match the Paris based club will be expected to win and secure entry into the next round.

TEAM NEWS

Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are the big absentees here. The striker duo was not included in the travelling squad, having picked up minor niggles against West Ham United.

Luke Shaw is likely to play a part after missing action for around a month.

Goalkeeper

There is no doubt regarding the scale of the game and Ole has to back his more experienced and trusted players.

This could see David de Gea return to the goal, outsing Dean Henderson.

Defence

Ole has continually tweaked his formations this season. But he is likely to shift back to a more conservative 5-3-2 against the fast counter-attacking German team.

This formation worked wonders in the first game against PSG and should be deployed tonight as well.

A 3-man defensive wall could see Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw included in the Man United lineup.

If Shaw is not deemed fully fit to start, we should see Axel Tuanzebe get a call-up.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles will start as the wing-backs.

Midfield

The central midfield could well do with the solidity of Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay.

United cannot afford to leave gaps in midfield, something they ended up doing in the loss against PSG.

Bruno Fernandes should start ahead of the duo in the Man United lineup. He turned the game on its head against the Hammers and his creativity and technical nous will come in handy against Leipzig.

Attack

With Cavani and Martial injured, Ole has his options cut to size.

We could well see Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood lead the Man United lineup. Their pace on the break and finishing prowess could come in handy on a night where United cannot afford to let things slide in any department.
