3 Man United stars to watch out for during the international break: French star has a point to prove

Manchester United went into the international break on a high with a comfortable win against Everton. The Red Devils will next play West Bromwich Albion on November 21, but several of their players will be involved for their country over the next ten days.

3 Manchester United stars to keep an eye on during the international break

Scott McTominay

Scott McTominay has become a key player alongside Fred in Manchester United’s midfield, while he is also an important player for his national team, Scotland. The 23-year-old has played in midfield as well as part of a back three and will be a key player for the Scots in their important Euro 2020 qualifying game against Serbia.

Scotland will then face Slovakia and Israel in the Nations League, which they’re currently top of in League B Group 2. McTominay has won 17 caps for his country so far and he will be expected to play in all three games.

Paul Pogba

French midfielder Paul Pogba has been less than impressive for Manchester United once again this season, but the 27-year-old thrives when playing for his national team. Pogba is one of manager Didier Deschamps trusted lieutenants and he will be a key figure for the World Cup holders in this international break.

Pogba wasn’t included in the France squad for the last round of international fixtures having tested positive for COVID-19, but he should be a key player in the two Nations League games against Portugal and Sweden, as well as the friendly against Finland.

France are currently second in Group A3 of the Nations League, level on points with Portugal who have a superior goal difference. The World Cup winners should not lose to stand a chance to progress to the next stages of the competition.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek hasn’t been afforded any meaningful game time with Manchester United since signing for them from Ajax earlier this year. But, the Dutchman is quickly becoming an important player for the Netherlands. The midfielder scored for his national side in his last game when the Netherlands played Italy.

He will have to be at his best once again in this international break as the Netherlands will have to get positive results in their two Nations League game against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland. The Dutch are third in their group and will need to get two wins and hope Italy and Poland play out a draw to give them any chance of qualifying for the final stages of the tournament.
