Rodrygo to Start: Team News and Predicted 4-3-3 Real Madrid Lineup vs Monchengladbach

After back-to-back losses in the league and Champions League, Real Madrid got a morale-boosting win against arch-rivals Barcelona on Saturday. They will next take on Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Zinedine Zidane’s men will hope to pick up a win after their shock loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in the opening match of their Champions League campaign. The German side have won two, drawn two and lost one domestically this season, and drew 2-2 against Inter Milan in the Champions League in their opening game.

Chelsea Team News

Martin Odegaard, right-backs Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola, and defender Nacho will all miss the game against Monchengladbach. Belgian winger Eden Hazard, has travelled with the Spanish side following a spell on the sidelines due to injury, but it’s unlikely he will make the Real Madrid team.

Let’s take a look at the possible Real Madrid lineup for the game against Borussia Monchengladbach:

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois should play in goal for the Spanish giants on Tuesday night. The Belgian had a good Clasico and will look to keep the likes of Marcus Thuram, Alassane Plea at bay.

Defence

Sergio Ramos returned to the Real Madrid side and scored an important penalty in the win against Barcelona. He should start at the back alongside Raphael Varane. Zidane has a major issue at right-back as all three of his options in that position are injured.

Lucas Vazquez, who replaced Nacho in the El Clasico, should start in that position, while Marcelo should be restored to the left-back slot and replace Ferland Mendy in the Real Madrid lineup. Eder is another option at right-back for Zidane.

Midfield

Luka Modric has scored in back-to-back games for Real Madrid and he could start in midfield for Tuesday’s game. Modric is likely to replace Federico Valverde in the Real Madrid lineup. Toni Kroos and Casemiro should start alongside Modric in midfield.

Isco is an option in midfield for manager Zidane if he wants to play a more attacking game against the German side.

Attack

Karim Benzema has scored just once in all competitions this season, which will be a worry for Zidane. But the Frenchman should start for Real Madrid, leading the line against Monchengladbach.

Eden Hazard may not be fit enough to start the match which means that Vinicius could retain his place in the Real Madrid lineup. Rodrygo could start on the right-wing for Los Blancos.
