Midfield Linchpin to Return: Predicted 3-4-3 Arsenal Lineup vs West Ham United

Arsenal will play their first home game of the Premier League season later tonight when they take on West Ham United at the Emirates.

The Gunners got off to a winning start against Fulham a week ago, and were barely threatened by the newly-promoted side as they struggled to construct anything in attack.

West Ham, despite their loss on the opening weekend, did create some good chances but were not clinical enough in front of goal. Their defending was a massive cause for concern, however, and they can ill-afford to be as bad against Arsenal, who have one of the best strikers in the league in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal Team News

The Gunners will have David Luiz back, as the Brazilian has recovered from his neck injury. However, it remains to be seen if he will make the Arsenal lineup.

Dani Ceballos is in line to start having had more sessions with the rest of the squad. The Spaniard wasn’t away for long before Arsenal his arrival on loan for another year.

Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis, and are still unavailable. The latter has been linked with a move away from the club.

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs West Ham United

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno is the undisputed first choice at the club after Emiliano Martinez’s departure to Aston Villa, and the German should make the Arsenal lineup.

Defence

The Arsenal defence was solid last weekend as the trio of Kieran Tierney, Gabriel, and Rob Holding did exceptionally well to deny Fulham any goal-scoring chances.

It is unlikely Luiz will be drafted into the Arsenal lineup immediately, and if the back three impress again Luiz might have to wait for his opportunity.

Midfield

Mohamed Elneny has forced his way back into the Arsenal team, and could be an important player this season. However, we expect Ceballos to make his way into the Arsenal team, and start alongside Granit Xhaka.

Ainsley MaitlandNiles and Hector Bellerin should keep their places in the wing-back positions.

Attack

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally extended his contract this week, and the former Borussia Dortmund star should start on the left.

Alexandre Lacazette should start up front, and new signing Willian should keep his place on the left after a stunning debut for the club.

Nicolas Pepe will be an option off the bench, should Arteta need more pace and guile on the right flank.
