Aston Villa are desperate for a goal scorer this summer and have been linked with a number of exciting names recently. And the latest name now on their radar is that of Bournemouth star, Callum Wilson.
A story from Daily Mail claims that Villa are unable to strike a deal with Brentford for Ollie Watkins and have now stepped up their interest in the Bournemouth man.

Having started his senior career with Coventry City in 2009, Callum Wilson was always known as a prolific goalscorer, which saw him join the Cherries in the Championship in 2014.
He registered 20 goals and seven assists in his first season at the club, playing a crucial role in taking the side to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old’s best return in the top flight came the season before last, where he managed 14 goals and nine assists but last season, he failed to show enough consistency, along with his teammates, to keep Bournemouth up for another season.
Wilson scored just eight goals in 32 league starts and like players around him, struggled for most of the season.
However, he now has 41 goals and 16 assists in 126 Premier League games for Bournemouth and has the ability to lead the line for a club like Aston Villa next season.
Villa’s top scorer last season was a midfielder in Jack Grealish. Wesley and Mbwana Samatta, the first choice strikers at the club, managed just six goals between them, leaving Dean Smith’s side struggling to win games.
Keinan Davis, Anwar El-Ghazi and even Grealish were all used to lead the line last season and Wilson could be a decent upgrade on all these names.
The Bournemouth man is an energetic presence in the final third. He is an excellent finisher but what makes the 28-year-old dangerous is his movement and positioning in front of the goal.
Callum Wilson is adept at running behind defences, but can also drop deep and help in build-up play. He can act as a target-man if needed but with the likes of Grealish creating chances behind him, Wilson is sure to be a real goal-scoring threat in the Premier League next season.
The Bournemouth man will also allow Dean Smith to play a more fluid system that can see Villa dominate games, at least against struggling teams.
Pushing into the top half of the points table will be a realistic target for Villa next season and fending off interest from the Magpies for the experience of Wilson could be crucial for the club’s chances.
