Premier League 2019-20: Top 5 Forwards Including Southampton & Arsenal Stars

The 2019-20 Premier League season finally came to an end, with Liverpool crowned Premier League champions for the very first time. The season had some great moments, with a few teams and players putting in unexpected performances.

The strikers in the league put in some good performances, some consistently scoring throughout the season, while others did well in the first half of the season before fading away. The likes of Tammy Abraham and Teemu Pukki surprised everyone with their form in the first half, but couldn’t keep it up for the rest of the season.

Here, we take a look at the top 5 forwards from the 2019-20 Premier League season

Jamie Vardy

33-year-old Jamie Vardy ended the season with 23 goals in the Premier League and was the highest scorer in the 2019-20 Premier League season. The Englishman was an integral part of the Foxes’ success in the 2019-20 season, who looked set for a top 4 finish before spiralling this year, managing 5th place.

The 2019-20 season was Vardy’s second-highest goal tally in the Premier League, one behind the 24 goals he scored in Leicester’s Premier League-winning season.

Danny Ings

Danny Ings moved from Liverpool to Southampton on a permanent basis ahead of the 2019-20 season. The 28-year-old forward had suffered numerous injuries at Liverpool, which hindered his game time.

But, he turned up when it mattered for Southampton, scoring 22 goals, one behind Vardy, and helped Southampton retain their Premier League status. Southampton’s solid second half of the season coincided with Ings’ good form.

Sadio Mane

Liverpool’s two wide men, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, both had fine seasons for the club, scoring 18 and 19 goals, respectively, in the Premier League. It was a toss-up between Mane and Salah on this list, and the former just got the nod thanks to his unselfish play in the forward line. Mane averaged 2 dribbles per game, compared to his teammate’s 1.5 dribbles per game, and gave the ball away fewer times as well.

Raul Jimenez

Wolves were set to qualify for the Europa League for the second year running but lost out on it with other results not going their way. But, manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be proud of his team, who exceeded expectations again, finishing higher than the likes of Arsenal.

One of Wolves’ star men was Mexican striker Raul Jimenez, who ended the season with 17 goals – one-third of the goals Wolves scored this season in the league. His strength and exceptional finishing have attracted interest from other clubs, and Wolves will do well to keep him for next season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored 22 goals for the second season running. The Gabon international was on the scoresheet consistently despite his team playing sub-par football throughout the season.

The veteran striker now has 54 goals for the Gunners in 85 Premier League games – which is an excellent return. The North London club will be hoping to keep their captain, whose contract is set to expire next season.

Its appropriate time to make some plans for the long run and it is time to be happy. I have read this post here and if I may I want to counsel you some interesting things or advice.
