Arsenal Eye A Transfer For Technically Gifted Attacking Ace: One For The Future?

Arsenal are interested in signing Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu, as per reports.

The 19-year-old midfielder has developed well at the Dutch club, after making his debut at the tender age of 17 in 2018.

As per Voetbal International (via Standard), the Gunners are going to place a bid for Kokcu in the coming weeks.

Arsenal technical director Edu is keen on signing the midfielder, and the Dutch club are open to selling the talented player.

Kokcu has made 47 appearances for the Feyenoord senior team, scoring 7 times and assisting 10 times. His current deal with the club expires only in 2023, having signed a new contract last year.

Orkun Kokcu to Arsenal – One for the future?

Kokcu is a technically gifted youngster, who has the vision to open up defences with his exquisite passing from the middle of the park.

The Dutch-born Turkey Under-21 international is a very offensive-minded player, and tries to make things happen with his dribbling and passing.

The youngster averaged 1.4 key passes per game in the 2019-20 Dutch league, while also averaging 3 long balls per game.

The 19-year-old is a central midfielder, but is also capable of playing further forward as a No. 10. The 5′ 9″ player has the ability to drift away from opposing players with his quick turn of pace and dribbling. He is also not afraid to shoot from distance, and has the ability to play long balls as well.

Kokcu is a fine talent, one who would excel as part of a three-man midfield, or further forward as a No. 10. While he does have the talent and ability to shine, he will take a while to adjust to the speed and physical nature of the Premier League.

He will take time to settle into the game and should only be used as a substitute or be played in cup competitions.

Kokcu could be the man to replace Mesut Ozil in the Arsenal side in the future. The Gunners should move in to sign him, especially now, when the values of players are not that high.

Just 19 years of age, Kokcu has the potential to be a very good player for the Gunners in a few years from now.
